Privacy Policy
Last updated: 16 September 2026
Euroriva Engineering Group Ltd (“Euroriva”, “we”, “our”, “us”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect through eurorivaengineering.com, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the rights you have under UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).
If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your data, please email info@eurorivaengineering.com.
1. Who we are
The data controller responsible for your personal data is:
Euroriva Engineering Group Ltd
Company number: SC871973 (registered in Scotland)
Registered office: 1/1 18 Bulldale Place, Glasgow, Scotland, G14 0NE, United Kingdom
Email: info@eurorivaengineering.com
Website: https://eurorivaengineering.com
2. What personal data we collect
We only collect personal data when you interact with our website. Depending on the interaction, this may include:
- Contact enquiries you submit — your name, email address, phone number, company name, and the content of your message. Providing these is voluntary, but we cannot respond to an enquiry without a name and a way to contact you.
- Technical data collected automatically — your IP address, browser type and version, device type, referring website, and the pages you visit. This is used for security, troubleshooting, and understanding how the site is used.
- Analytics data — see Section 6.
Our services are intended for professional and business audiences. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
3. How we use your personal data
We use personal data for the following purposes:
- To respond to enquiries you send us via the contact form or by email.
- To operate, maintain, and secure the website.
- To understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it, via anonymised or aggregated analytics (see Section 6).
- To comply with legal, regulatory, or contractual obligations.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
4. Legal bases for processing
Under UK GDPR, we rely on one or more of the following legal bases:
- Consent — for optional analytics and marketing cookies, which are only set after you accept them via our cookie banner.
- Legitimate interests — for essential website security, fraud prevention, and responding to your business enquiries. We keep processing under this basis to what is proportionate and consider your rights and freedoms.
- Contract — where processing is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into, or during, a contract with us.
- Legal obligation — where UK law requires us to keep or disclose certain records.
5. Contact form data
Our website’s contact form is provided by our Solace theme. When you submit it, the message is delivered to us by email using WP Mail SMTP; Solace does not retain a copy of the submission in the WordPress database. We use the details you provide only to reply to your enquiry and, where relevant, to follow up on a resulting business relationship.
Contact enquiries kept in our email are retained for up to 24 months from the last correspondence, unless we need to keep them longer to comply with a legal obligation or to establish, exercise, or defend a legal claim. Because our hosting provider takes daily backups of the website files and database (see Section 9), the submission may briefly appear in backup snapshots taken shortly after it was sent before those snapshots roll off.
6. Cookies, analytics, and third-party services
The website uses cookies and similar technologies. Full details, including a list of every cookie set and its purpose, are in our Cookie Policy.
In summary:
- Essential cookies are always set. They make the site function and remember your consent choices. No consent is required for these.
- Statistics and marketing cookies are only set if you accept them via the cookie banner. If you accept, we use:
- Google Analytics 4 (via Google Site Kit) — to collect anonymised traffic and usage data. Provided by Google LLC in the United States. Analytics data is retained for 14 months (default GA4 retention).
You can change or withdraw your cookie consent at any time by clicking “Consent Preferences” on the Cookie Policy page. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before you withdrew it.
7. Sharing your personal data
We do not sell or rent your personal data. We may share it only with:
- Hostinger International Ltd — as our website hosting provider. Our site is hosted on Hostinger servers located in Frankfurt, Germany, and Hostinger acts as a data processor under a Data Processing Addendum that covers UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
- Google (Google Analytics 4) — as described in Section 6, only if you have accepted statistics cookies.
- Legal authorities — where required by law, court order, or to protect our legal rights.
Any processor we use is contractually required to keep your data secure and to process it only on our instructions.
8. International data transfers
Our website is hosted within the European Economic Area (Frankfurt, Germany). The UK Government recognises the EEA as providing an adequate level of protection for personal data, so this hosting arrangement does not involve a restricted international transfer.
Where personal data is transferred outside the UK and the EEA — for example to Google in the United States for analytics — we rely on appropriate safeguards permitted by UK GDPR. These typically include Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the UK Information Commissioner and, where the recipient is certified, reliance on the UK-US Data Bridge (the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework).
9. Data retention
We keep personal data only for as long as needed for the purposes for which it was collected:
- Contact form and email enquiries — typically up to 24 months from the last contact, unless a longer retention is required for legal reasons.
- Analytics data (Google Analytics 4) — 14 months.
- Hosting backups — our hosting provider takes daily backups of the website files and database. Backup snapshots are retained on a rolling basis (currently around the most recent 45 days) before being overwritten. Personal data contained in a backup is removed when the snapshot holding it rolls off.
- Server access logs and other hosting-side technical logs — retained by our hosting provider only for as long as necessary for security, operation, abuse prevention, and legal compliance. Hostinger has not published a fixed retention period for these records.
Where we no longer need your data, we delete or anonymise it.
10. How we protect your data
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including HTTPS encryption in transit, restricted administrator access to the website, EEA-based hosting with a written Data Processing Addendum, and reputable third-party processors that meet recognised security standards. No online system is completely secure, but we work to reduce risk to a proportionate level.
11. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the following rights in relation to your personal data:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Erasure — ask us to delete your data where there is no lawful reason for us to keep it.
- Restriction — ask us to limit how we use your data.
- Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests, or object to direct marketing.
- Portability — receive certain data in a structured, commonly used format.
- Withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent, withdraw it at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, email info@eurorivaengineering.com. We will respond within one month of receiving your request, as required by UK GDPR.
12. Complaints
If you are not satisfied with how we handle your personal data, you have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO):
Information Commissioner’s Office
Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF
Website: https://ico.org.uk
Helpline: 0303 123 1113
We ask that you contact us first so we have a chance to resolve the issue, but this is not required.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top of the page. Material changes may also be highlighted in the cookie banner or on the site.
